This Hey, let's pray for the kids next door. God, I want you to touch the student ministry as they have their own service next door. I want you to anoint them, God. Let the let heaven fall. Baptize them. Fill them with a fresh anointing of the Holy Ghost. Call them and lead them in Jesus name. And I'm asking you, God, to anoint this choir as they sing. We had some [music] folks come with us to Midwinter Summit this year and after everything was over, I asked them. I was like, "Man, what do you think?" [music] They said, "Man, this is the greatest thing we've ever experienced in our life. This is crazy." You know, >> and I thought, "That's awesome." And I I looked at them and I said, "You know, as wonderful as this conference is, we have this every [music] service we have church. It's just not as many people." I'm just thankful to be a part of a church that's growing, that knows how to have revival, that has something for everybody. I'm thankful to be a part of this. Hallelujah. Aren't you glad to be in the house of the Lord on Tuesday night? [applause and music] Good singing. If you'd remain standing, I want to go quickly to the word. And uh I promise you, you're not going to get bored tonight. I promise you, you're going to be thankful. Even though I'm going to do a repeat of Sunday afternoon, >> you're still not going to get bored. >> I found out Sunday that I can't do this series on that second service, there's not enough time. And uh so I didn't I did not feel delivered. I didn't feel complete on Sunday. And uh so I'm going to redo Sunday's teaching on motives >> so that it'll be complete for 2026 and we'll be able to go back and look at it and hopefully [music] it can be turned into book form just like more than enough was turned into a the form of a book. So [applause] but I'm going to be bringing you a lot of information tonight. So, let's get into the word. Acts chapter 16 and verse 30. I'm going to use the same launching scriptures, but I with a little bit more time, I'm going to be able to to uh add some more content and hopefully give you a more well-rounded understanding of what separation's about. Acts chapter 16 and verse 30. Again, this is the story of the Philippian jailer. Paul and Silas was kept in prison. Paul and Silas were in prison and they begin to worship and the place was shaken and all the chains fell off and all the prisoners were loosed including Paul and Silas. And the prisoners and the jailer had been hearing Paul and Silas sing >> and knew it was an act of God. >> And it put the Philippian jailer under such conviction that he asked this question. Sir, what must I do to be saved? >> What must I do? >> What must? Everybody say must. >> Must. This gives the indication that he wanted the bottom of the barrel. >> He wanted the bottom rung. >> It's like going to Costco and wanting to join Costco and they got three or four different entry levels and you say, "I want the cheapest one. I want the lowest level. >> I want to I want to barely be a Costco member. I want to be a very generic Costco member. Yeah, >> I don't want any of the benefits. I just want to slip inside. And then we're going to go to Acts 9 and 6. Acts chapter 9 and verse 6. Acts chapter 9 and 6. This is the story of Saul on the road to Damascus. He has been a killer of Christians. He's been or ordering the slaughter of all tongue talkers. Everybody that was receiving the Holy Ghost, get baptized in Jesus' name. He wanted them done away with. And he's on his way to mas Damascus to do away with some more Christians. And Jesus strikes him down on his face and blind on the road to Damascus. He realizes that it's Jesus and he starts this questioning of Jesus. And here's what he said in trembling and astonished. He said, "Lord," he knew it was Jesus, but he called him Lord because what that meant was, "I'm willing to serve you." What wilt thou have me to do? Isn't that an amazing different question? Amazingly different question. Our modern day language would say, "What what do you wish of me? What are your wishes? wishes. In other words, what I want to know is what will make you happy? What will please you? And the Lord said, "Arise, go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do." This is a perfect scripture for everybody that wants to sit at home and have a relationship with God without a preacher. >> Jesus will not feel the role of your spiritual leader, >> but he will send you to one. He said, "You go into the city and find you a man of God. He'll He'll lead you." >> That's right. >> Hallelujah. >> God bless you. You can be seated. Lift your hands and ask the Holy Ghost to talk to our heart for a few minutes tonight. Would you do that, Jesus? Dear Lord, I'm asking you to open my mind, my understanding. Speak to us tonight. All right, let's go into the word of the Lord for a few minutes. Acts 16 and30 is the story of the Philippian jailer. He asked, "Lord, what must what must I do? What do I have to do?" and in order to be saved and he's this this man is never mentioned again. The the greatest chance on the very basis of his question is the reason you never hear from him again is because he did not last. That is the greatest chance because when someone wants to know the least that they have to do, >> they're just not gonna make it. >> I I'm going to I'm going to tell you that that this is an allin deal. Yes. >> And I understand there are churches being built everywhere in every kind of religion that will will sell you salvation at a bargain basement price. >> But it's just not reality. >> It's fool's gold. Paul or Saul who will have a name change which represents being born again ask a whole another question. What wilt thou have me do? Or what what is your wishes Lord? What what will please you? What will make you happy? And from that time forward, you rarely turn a page in your Bible until you get to the book of Revelation. You rarely turn a page of your Bible that Paul's name is not mentioned. >> He's either being talked about or he's writing. >> You're either reading a letter that he's written [clears throat] or he's being referred to and talked about. From that point forward, he becomes this almost the center figure that the entire rest of your New Testament circles around. >> And it's all in the approach. >> It's all in the approach. >> And so I'm starting this series on relationship. Relationship demands separation. That's the title of this series. Relationship demands separation with motives. >> Because unless your motivation's right, it really doesn't matter how separated you become, >> you you've got to have the right motivation and the right approach. And so, let me start out by telling you, and I'm going to do a whole lot of teaching to back this up, but there's only one motivation that works, and that's to have a deep, loving, sincere and honest and transparent relationship with Jesus Christ. >> No other motive will keep you. No other motive will save you. >> You see, even Pentecost has turned this thing in to to a series of technicalities. >> I I'm I am disturbed by people that think because they can still talk in tongues that that means they're going to be saved. Yes sir. >> Now I this is not a diminishing of the importance of tongues. >> Okay. Tongues is vitally important for your salvation. >> But there's got to be a renewing in the Holy Ghost. >> One of the pitfalls in living for God is you can talk in tongues so much that your subconscious remembers it and records it. And then you can go into that recorded remembered tongue as a conscious soother >> and still have evil deeds. >> But talk in tongues. >> That's why you've got to have renewing of the Holy Ghost that comes with a new tongue. Every once in a while, you need to get somewhere and repent and weep and cry and say, "God, give me a brand new renewing of the Holy Ghost [applause] [cheering] that comes along with a brand new tongue." >> And you even recognize with tears rolling down your cheeks, I've never heard myself talk in that tongue before. >> Now you know you have renewing of the Holy Ghost. But I want you to understand that that even then even in that circumstance, tongues is not the assurance that you're going to be saved. >> There's going to be a lot of shocked tongue talkers in hell. They're going to be lost while talking in tonesues because tonesues is the initial sign. >> The first time you receive the Holy Ghost and you speak in tonesues, you know, I got the Holy Ghost. >> How do you know? Because I heard myself talking in in a in a language I've never spoken before. because people around me heard me speak in a language that I I shouldn't know. So I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. After that, you can no longer claim tongues as the sign that you're full of the Holy Ghost. >> After that, are y'all listening to me? The sign that you have the Holy Ghost is fruit of the spirit. [applause and cheering] >> If you're not sweet, >> you need the Holy Ghost. >> You say, "Well, where do you get that if you're not?" Because fruit is sweet. >> All fruit is sweet. So if you're not sweet, you don't have fruit. >> If you're struggling with forgiveness, >> you need renewing in the Holy Ghost. >> If you can't, if you're trying to make excuses not to forgive, >> even if it's your spouse, >> they're not an exception. For some reason, people think that their their spouse is an exception to the rule. Well, this fruit of the spirit, but but that's my wife. >> What does that matter? >> If you're telling lies, I don't care how much you talk in tongues, you're not being truthful. >> You need the Holy Ghost. If you're jipping people, >> you >> that's not fruit of the spirit. There there's got that after after that initial sign of talking in tongues, the way you prove that you have the Holy Ghost is that you you live right and you walk right and you act right. And everybody listen to me. It's not something you have to do. It's something that you automatically are supposed to be. >> So if you're not act act automatically being those things, then you're not getting renewed. [applause] You shouldn't have to work on it. A true Holy Ghost fil Christian shouldn't have to, you know, I I boy, I need to do better about that. I should have been more honest. >> Well, why ain't it coming natural? You see, if you've if you've truly got the Holy Ghost, let's use it just a minute as the Holy Spirit. >> Would Jackson, would you come help me just a second >> Walker? Sorry, you look so much like Jackson. I just reverted. I remember when he looked like you. He just wasn't near that good-look. >> You see, when when you receive the Holy Spirit, it it it it works on the inside, but I can't put anything on inside on the inside of him. Okay? So, I'm going to do it on the outside. God gives you the Holy Spirit >> and it takes over and gets in the driver's seat >> and we it literally used to sing a song about it. The things I used to do, I don't do those things anymore. There's been a change in me. >> The way I used to live, I don't live that way anymore. There's been a change in me. The things I used to say, I don't say those things anymore. There's been a change in me. >> [applause] >> But here's the deal, and I talked about this Sunday, but it's like going to the gas station and and refilling your vehicle. >> If you don't go to the gas station every once in a while and fill up, you're going to run out of gas. And if you The Holy Ghost is not a one-time shot of do you, >> right? >> Yes, sir. The reason we have church three times a week >> is you need it. >> And the folks that don't think they need it are the ones that need it the worst. [applause] >> If you don't believe it, just get around them. >> You come to church because you got to have renewing. Does did God have the ability to give us a Holy Ghost that didn't have to be renewed? Absolutely he did. Brother Lyndon, he could have he could have filled you with the Holy Ghost and you just stay bubbling full all the time for the rest of your life and die full of the Holy Ghost and be sweet and kind and full of the spirit because you just full of the Holy Ghost all the time. He could have done it that way. But you know why he didn't? Because most of us, he'd never see us again. >> He'd never see you again. If you could stay full of the Holy Ghost and live in this world without prayer, >> he'd never see you again. But you see, the whole reason he wants you is for relationship. >> The whole reason he wants you is the same reason you got married. >> The whole reason he wants you is the same reason you had children. Why did you have children? Did you have them just to turn them turn them loose after they want to say see you later? >> No. You had those children because you wanted relationship. >> And most of you if if you had a house big enough and they'd get married and move back in, you'd just welcome them. Come on. >> And what you got to understand is Jesus created you for relationship. He created you because he wants to talk to you every day. >> He created you because he wants you to need him every day. >> He created you because he wants you to bring him your problems and talk to him and converse with him and love on him and he wants to wrap his arms around you. And that's why he made you have to have renewing >> because he wants you to come back to the well. Because for him, it's all about relationship. >> This entire deal is about me and you needing him. >> He wants you. And let And somebody said, "Well, well, I can just stay at home and have relationship with God. I can just sit at my house, man. I I got a place out behind my house. >> I go out there and pray. Me and God, we have the best deal going." Well, then why did Jesus create the church? He's the very one that did that. >> He said, "Upon this rock, I'm going to build my church." The entire book of Acts is built on corporate worship. [applause] >> You say, "Well, why do I have to get together with the body of believer?" There's literally people that don't. They don't want to. They don't want to come pray with you. They don't want to come worship with you. >> Well, why do I have to? Well, how many of you like to have one child that don't want anything to do with their siblings? >> How many of you mas like you just really enjoy just really get a kick out of that? Any of y'all? How many of y'all just like it when you got one antisocial child? >> They want to come see you by themselves and if the siblings come over, they leave. Does that grieve you? >> How many of you the best days of your life are the holidays when all your little chickens come home together? How many of you that's the best thing? That's the greatest thing in the world. So does God feel that way? >> There's nothing he loves anymore when the entire body of believers gather together and worship him in one mind. And he said, "In fact, here's what I'm going to tell you. If you man, if you'll get together and you'll have unity and you'll be in one mind and one accord, >> I'll be right there in the middle of you." >> What is your motive for living for God? The only motive >> that works is the is the motive of relationship. If you want deep relationship with him, that motive will keep you all the way to the end. >> Now, let me tell you, most people do not get into the church with a motive of having a relationship with God. >> Very few. And so, an alternate motive is acceptable in the beginning. In fact, Jude talked about that. He said, "Man, some some are saved by fear." >> He said, "Everybody don't come for the same motive. Some some are saved by fear." Some you you know, and so as a pastor, I see people get into church for all different kind of motives. >> People get in the church just simply because the church is the first thing that ever accepted them. You know, they tried to get in this club and tried to get in that club and tried to fit in this, tried to fit in that. They were rejected everywhere they went in life. And the church was so full of love that when they walked in, that was the first place they ever felt real acceptance and love. And so if we'd have been if we'd have been a band of child molesters, they'd have still joined us. If we'd have been a backer clan, if we'd have been the Hell's Angels, >> if we'd have been the mafia, >> if we'd have been a a street gang, they would have still joined >> because they were just looking for a place to fit. >> All right. >> There's people that get in the church because they want to sing in the choir. There's people that get in the church because they they they want a leadership role. They they they feel like they're leadership and this is a place that they can be in a leadership role. They can be trusted in a leadership role. It and and so it really doesn't matter what the church is to those kind of people. >> And then there's people that get in the church just strictly because of fear. They don't want to go to hell. There are people that that come to church because somewhere they get under conviction and they realize if I don't get in the church I'm going to be lost. >> And they run to the church. >> And they get in the church because they don't want to go to hell. That's their motivator. >> But I'm just going to tell you and and there's people that get in the church because somebody they want to date is Pentecostal. So they become Pentecostal chasing this other person. >> There's people getting the church just because that's where their f their family joined the church so they join. >> And so we can talk about all the motives and that's fine if that's what gets you in. God God will receive that. >> But somewhere >> on this walking journey, you got to shift gears. And it's got to change from acceptance or or or whatever it is, whatever drove you in, it's got to shift to I really have fallen in love with Jesus Christ and I want to build a relationship with him. >> You see, there comes the point that if there was no heaven and there was no hell, I would still >> keep doing just what I'm doing. [cheering] Come on. >> I mean, I told God that the other day. I sat down the other day and I told the Lord, "Lord, if there wasn't a heaven, if there wasn't a hell, if if I could live any way I wanted to live, and I would not be lost if I found out it did not exist." And I promise you, it does, both sides. But I'm I'm so deep in this deal of of loving the word of God and loving prayer and loving my relationship with him >> that if heaven was taken away and hell was taken away and and I could just live any way I want to live, I wouldn't change a thing >> because this is the greatest life I've ever lived. Relationship with Jesus Christ and freedom from the things of this world is the greatest, most rewarding life on earth. I literally don't want anything else. >> I love waking up in the morning. I told my wife today, I said, "I'm the happiest that I've ever been in my life. Everything's not perfect. I got all kind of problems surrounding me, all kind of things that that I wish were different. But that's not the issue. The issue is I love waking up every morning at peace with God. I love waking up every morning knowing the last thing I did before I fell asleep last night was talk to him and read his word and enjoyed communion with him and waking up in the morning and the first words out of my mouth is good good morning Lord >> I I don't know how to describe that peace and that hope of knowing that he's going to spend that day walking with me >> and that really nothing can happen in the confines of my day that's not ordered by am >> because I'm in Christ. >> And as long as I'm in Christ, then nothing can assault me or come against me. And so if some horrible situation comes to me, then I've got peace in knowing that the only way it could come to me is that God allowed it. >> And he had had it had he not allowed it, it could not come. and God can bring me through anything he can bring me to. >> There's a lot of peace in that. >> And knowing that God trusted me with that. >> And so our my motive for living for God has got to be a righteous motive. I want my motive I want my motive to be to be pleasing in the sight of God. And now I got to go to the ne next step. Once your motive is being pleasing in the sight of God, then it erases all the dumb questions. All the all the all the dumb questions go away. And and and I' I've got to deal with this right quick because Lucifer loves to pose questions. I said this Sunday and I want to repo re re repeat this one part right here. But Lucifer knows Christ. He knows God. He knows how powerful he is. He recognizes things that we forget about God. Lucifer is more afraid of God than you are. Yeah. >> The truth of the matter is Lucifer has more respect for God than most people. >> And so he he'll he'll talk you in and set you up. Have you Have you ever had a friend like that? Have you ever had a friend that's not bold enough to pick a fight or not bold enough to say things so he'll put it in your mind and take you down there and let you say it? Anybody ever had a friend like that? >> Raise your hand if you ever had a friend that would set you up >> and then let you run out on the limb. That's the way Lucifer is. He He didn't go down there and tell tell Eve, "God's a liar. God lied to you." You know why? because he he knew God would with one thump. >> One thump from the finger of God, he he'd be all over with. >> So he just he just set Eve up. Hath God said? And so the the devil loves to ask these dumb questions. But the sad thing is is we we literally have carnal people that think those questions are smart. They literally think that they're smarter than the rest of us. And so what they think is is they think that that if they ask these questions that it's going to set them apart and make them sound intelligent. That's the same thing that the devil did with Eve. He said, "Man, if you'll ask these certain questions, you'll be a God. You'll be like God. >> Yeah. >> You'll know all the thing God and all the things God knows. >> And so the indication is is that all you folks that come down here and listen to me preach are just a just a little mentally slow. And so I've got you under some kind of trance. >> And you do all this stuff without questioning. But they're smart enough to ask the right questions. >> Well, how'd that work out for Adam and Eve? >> And here's the question. Here's the here's the main question. And every question may sound a little different, but it all it all really comes back to the same question. And that is, if I do this, will it send me to hell? You mean if I go here, I'm gonna go to hell? You mean if I wear this a loving God that died on the cross for me, if I put on this article clothing, I'm going to go to hell. And to the carnal mind, that sounds as intelligent as when Lucifer posed to Eve, "Did God really say, >> "Then that in the day you eat of that tree, you're going to die, boy." Eve thought that was a smart question, didn't you? And and so think of that in the day that you did he really say in the day that you eat of that tree, you're going to die. Don't that sound a whole lot of you mean if I wear this I'm gonna go to hell? >> Isn't that kind of the same question in the same context with the same reason behind it? >> You mean a loving God that's supposed to love me and created me for relationship if I wear this is going to is going to put me in hell? And that sounds like such an intelligent question until you realize that it's just the wrong question. It's it's just the wrong question. It it that's not a question to be asked because it's really not relevant to the relationship. What that question does is reveals a root problem. It what it what that question reveals is that there is no relationship. >> Are y'all are y'all following me here? >> That question reveals a lack of relationship. The very person that would ask that question, it means that they have a basic misunderstanding >> of their relationship with God. And here's the way I frame it. Because of the fact, listen, because of the fact that God types his relationship with us in two ways, a husband and wife relationship and a parent and child relationship. In two places in the Bible, he said, "If you want to know what my relationship with you is like, it's like a father and his children." If a child asked for bread, would a father give him a stone? If he asked for bread, would he give him a serpent? If he asked for a fish, would he give him a serpent? And he another place he says, if you want to know how to treat your wife, writing through the Apostle Paul that we mentioned earlier, if you want to know how you treat your wife, you treat your wife like God treats the church. and gave himself >> for it. >> And so in that context, I've got to ask myself the same question in a husband and wife relationship. If I if if and I used this Sunday, but let me go back to it. If I'm wearing dirty, filthy, muddy shoes and my wife's just swept and mopped and I want to walk in the house and she says, "Would you please remove your shoes before coming in? I just swept and mopped. And my question is, will you divorce me if I don't? First of all, that question is not the right question. It comes completely out of left field. >> What husband ask his wife, "Are you going to divorce me if I wear my shoes in the house? Now, if out of nowhere, if out of a a a wonderful relationship that has no previous issues, that question is asked, the wife is going to look at him and ask him, "Do you need to see a psychologist?" Something ain't right. That, in other words, that's not the right question. It don't even fit the context. That's what I'm telling you. Where does that question fit in a husband and wife relationship where everything's moving along fine? Could you please remove your shoes? I JUST SWEPT MY YOU'RE GOING TO DIVORCE ME IF I DO. YOU'RE TELLING ME IF I wear my shoes in the house that we're over? No. What's wrong with you? >> The question doesn't fit. ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME? IT'S THE WRONG QUESTION. >> Here's what the question reveals. The question reveals that it's not a good relationship. The question reveals that they've been fighting and they've already been talking about divorce. The question reveals that someone already wants out of the marriage. The question reveals that they're in constant combat. The question reveals that someone's unhappy and wanting to leave. The question reveals that before he ever went outside and she started sweeping AND MOPPING, THEY HAD ALL OUT WAR. AND NOW SHE SAYS, "Could you remove your shoes?" And he says, "Is it going to be divorce now?" Now it fits the context. You've got a broken relationship. And when you're asking, if I do this, if I do that, if I go here, if I go there, if I wear this, if I bring this in my home, am I going to go TO HELL? YOU DON'T HAVE YOU HAVE A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP WITH THE GOD THAT YOU'RE SERVING. [applause] THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THAT THAT FITS. >> You're right. >> There's no love. Love's been lost. What's your motive for living for God? If it's just to sing in the choir, then when the platform standards are read, you're going to wonder, can I sing in this choir? Now, I've got to take the next step. There's only two kingdoms. There's the kingdom of Christianity and there's the kingdom of this world. That's the only two. No one lives their life without relationship. So if you're not interested in if you're not interested in relationship with Jesus your creator, then you have to have another interest. I I got to say that again. If you're not interested in a relationship with Jesus Christ, then who who are you building a relationship with? >> If if the relationship of God and the church don't interest you, >> you're not dead. So there's an interest somewhere. >> And the very reason that you're asking would go here or go in there or doing this or watching this or bringing this in my home send me to hell is because while you want the benefits of being saved and not going to hell, >> you really want a relationship with the world. >> And you just can't have both. The reason that you want a relationship with the world is because that's where your love is. >> You love the world. >> You see, there's something in you you that wants to you want to please one or the other. So, if your motive, Follow me now. Am I Am I I told y'all I wasn't going to bore you. Anybody getting bored? >> I told you earlier I I I told you earlier that if your motive is not to go to hell, >> if that is your motivating factor, then what you're going to do is you're going to bargain shop God. Yeah, >> your entire living for God is going to be a dickering process. >> How much can I get this far? >> How much is this going to cost me? >> You're going to live for God constantly bargain shopping him. Can Can I go here and still still not go to hell? >> Can I wear this and and still not? Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. I'm so I'm so thankful that I can do this and not go to hell. The only problem is is Paul writes to the church at Philippi and they had that problem. And here's here's what he told them because you receive not a love for the truth. He said, "You got in the church and how you got in was fine. I mean, you got in because you didn't want to go to hell. you got in because whatever whatever the reason is, but somewhere after you got in, you should have received a love for the truth. That's the same thing as saying a love for God because God is truth. >> You didn't fall in love with God. And because you haven't fell in love with God, God's going to send you a strong delusion. And you're going to believe a lie and be damned. As many as receive not the love of the truth, they're going to receive a lie and be damned. In other words, if you love the things of this world, God's finally going to turn you over to them and still let you believe you're saved. Jesus, >> he's not going to argue with you. He's not going to have a fight with you. >> But if you spend your life wanting this and wanting that and wanting the other, and I can't give this up, and I can't give that up, and I I I want to be in the church, but I just can't stop this, and I just can't stop that. I just can't. Second Peter Second Peter 2:16, I believe. Have y'all can Can y'all pull that up for me right quick? Second Peter 2:16. Let's look at that. Let's see how good my memory is. I think it's 2 Peter 2:16 is one of the scariest uh uh passages in the Bible. I'm going to tell you if if you if you keep doing something that's not it. That really is not it. [laughter] That ain't the verse I was looking for. [laughter] >> [laughter] [laughter] >> I've seen people that resembled that passage. Um, let's try two and nine. Boy, I thought I thought I had that remembered. Let's try two and nine here. Here's let me let me let me let me get this back because it's 8:28 and I want I want to hurry. You see, if you if you're constantly bargain bargaining shopping God, bargain shopping God, how cheap can I get your salvation? How cheap can I buy heaven? That's what you're saying when you say, "Can I watch this? Can I Can I bring this in my home? Can I bring this into my life? Can I bring this into my family? Can I add this back in and still be saved?" What you're doing is you're saying, "God, just how low can I get you down >> to get into heaven?" >> Which shows no relationship. Because when you when when you love someone, you you want to know how much relationship you can have with them. >> You want to know how much you can do for them. You want to know how much what you can do to please them. Can we have we can we get second Peter 2:9? What what does verse 20 say? Go ahead. What what I'm what I'm looking at what I'm the verse I'm looking at bar says they cannot cease from sin. They're they're there. This this There you go. 14 verse 14. Thank y'all. What I'm telling you is if you if you keep bargain shopping God, >> God will turn you over to what you love. >> He'll turn you over to it. And the scary thing is is having eyes full of adultery. This isn't just talking about sexual sin. What what he's referring to here is your lust for the world. >> You see, the lust for the world is considered spiritual adultery. >> Once you're filled with the Holy Ghost and you're in the church, once you're filled with the Holy Ghost and you become his and you belong to him, it's a marriage contract. When you get full of the Holy Ghost, he fills you full of his spirit. You are his. So if you go back to the world, he considers it spiritual adultery. >> And because you have eyes full of adultery, you're like Lot's wife. You keep looking back >> and cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls, a heart they have exercised with covetous practices. What is covetous practices? You want the world and God. You're covetous of the things the world has. You don't want to give it up. >> And that is unrighteousness >> in its in its very in its very definition. It's unrighteousness. And so you the whole motivation of living for God is wanting to please him. >> And here's the amazing thing about that. We have been to as apostolics, we have been to places in Africa. We've been in places in in the Amazon or Brazil. We have been to these places and found people who were not connected to Pentecost in the US, >> but they had found the revelation of Jesus name baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost. >> And we we locate these people and we're like, well, who are you connect? We're not connected any who taught you this? No one. We we found it through prayer and and and Bible reading. >> Okay. And if and if they get the Holy Ghost baptized in Jesus name completely separated >> and we'll find out
That they got the revelation of not women not cutting their hair. They get the revelation of a good clean haircut on men. They get the revelation of modest dress. They get the revelation of ridden themselves of jewelry. All the things that we believe, they're doing it and they're not connected. It has not been taught except through the spirit.
That's right. And this has happened over and over and over again. They're unconnected to the American Pentecostal Church because when you pray and you start wanting to please the Lord, the things of this world just begin to melt away from you. You see, there [clears throat] there is a if you walk into a room behind someone, if they're if they're perceptive at all. It's almost impossible for you to walk into a room behind someone that they don't wheel around. Look, they didn't catch you out of the corner of their eye. They felt you because there there is a a thing that we're made up of called frequency. Our our our very system pres uh uh produces a sound. It's just out of the range of human hearing. I have a sound. My they call it an aura, but my very DNA has a song.
Yes, sir. It sings. God can hear it. But you can't because it's outside the range of human hearing. Right now, sitting in this room, we're making up a choir even though we never open our mouths. Because frequency is not only electricity. It's not only a It's not only It's It's also a sound wave. It's an electric wave and a sound wave.
Ain't that awesome? And so when you walk into a room, they feel your frequency.
Not only do we have a frequency, they found that inanim inanimate objects have a frequency. Stones that they once thought were completely dead. Now they found out have frequency. They have a song. And I've said it over and over and over. It gives a whole new meaning to if you don't want to praise me, the rocks will cry out.
Here's the scary thing. The stone and the tree and the ocean don't have a choice. The deer does not have a choice. The bird when he sings, he's singing to his maker.
He has no choice. Only we have a choice. And if your song it to Christ, then who is it to? If your DNA, the frequency, the the song that's coming off of your DNA, if it's not committed to Jesus Christ, then who is it being sung to? Can anybody tell me? You're right. prince of the prince and power there. But the real truth of the matter is is it's being sung to yourself because no one worshiped the devil. The reason you're living the way you want to live is because you want to please you.
But Lucifer's the usurper. And so he gives you a way of worshiping him through worshiping yourself. It's called hedenism.
So you can listen, here's what I'm getting at. You can literally serve God hedonistically. What does that mean? I'm just trying to save my flesh from burning. I don't want to please you. I don't want to serve you. I just don't want my God to burn.
So, how cheap can I miss hell while serving my flesh? I don't want to beautify you through holiness. I want to beautify myself through makeup and jewelry. I don't want to beautify you through a meek and humble spirit that that displays the the fruit of the spirit. I want everybody to see how beautiful and great and decorated I am.
You following me? But I don't want to go to hell. SO HOW MUCH OF THAT CAN I HAVE AND NOT BURN? JUST TELL ME THAT, GOD, AND WE'LL HAVE IT ALL WORKED OUT. Am I making sense to anybody tonight?
This is why there's so many different categories of religion. That's why there's a plethora BaskinRobins assortment of different levels because everybody's willing to come in at a different level except that no one's going to be saved except those people that serve him with all of their heart and with all of their soul and with all of their mind. And anything he asked them to GIVE UP, THEY JOYFULLY AND CHEERFULLY. BEING a cheerful giver is not just talking about your offering. It's talking about your will. It's talking about your life. It's talking about your stuff.
You know who's going to be saved? Those that when God says, "I want your makeup. I want your jewelry. I want you to quit this. I want you to give that up. I don't want you to go there anymore." You cheerfully run down this aisle and throw it on the altar and say, "God, everything. I put my all on the altar. Whatever you want. I just want relationship with you. I just want me and you to talk. I I want me and you to have relationship and whatever you ask me to give up. There is no resistance. There is no question. AND THAT'S CALLED BEING FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST.
AND IF THAT'S NOT YOUR ATTITUDE, YOU'RE NOT FULL.
And the deal is is it's not a it's not a one-sizefits-all. There are some generic things in the Bible. He said, "Don't wear jewelry and costly stuff like that. Decorate yourself up with it." And I understand that you got these people that'll write an entire they'll write a commentary of a thousand pages to figure out a way to get around that one line. That ought to show you in itself they got the wrong spirit. Yeah.
You got to read the Bible with the motive to want to please God. That's it. Not get around him. That's why I'm starting this with motives. Why are you reading the Bible? To figure out a way around everything he says? Or are you reading it with an honest heart to want to please him and whatever he says? I'm just willing.
WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVE IN READING THE BIBLE? TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO WHAT YOU WANT TO do and make the word back it up because you will see that's what I'm talking about. That's what he's talking about in Philippians. He said, "Because they receive not a love for the truth, they will believe a lie." What is the lie? That their interpretation of the Bible's right. And somebody said, "Why didn't God just spell it out in his word?" I'm going to tell you why. He's proven your motive. He's testing your motive. If your motive is to find a way to sin through the Bible, you'll find it. But if your your motive is to find a way to please him and obey his word, you'll find that too. The Bible does not change. The Bible purifies your heart and your motive.
What is the lie? That your interpretation of the Bible is right. Yeah. And the amazing thing is people with an honest heart full of the Holy Ghost seem to wind up finding the same stuff in the Bible. And those that want to prove prove homosexuality is right and want to prove this is right, want to prove that, they're over there and they receive the same interpretation. And the two camps can't agree. You know what? It's not that there's a different Bible or a different interpretation. It's the revealer of the thoughts AND THE INTENT OF THE HEART. WHERE IS YOUR HEART? DO YOU HAVE THE RIGHT MOTIVE? IF YOU'VE GOT THE RIGHT MOTIVES, YOU WILL BE SAVED AND YOU WILL BE FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST AND YOU'LL MAKE IT TO HEAVEN. BUT YOU GOT TO HAVE THE RIGHT MOTIVE.
My Lord, let me go to my last point. I'm almost done. Everybody all right? Frequency. I got to finish frequency. Two of you boys help me right quick. One stand over here. One stand over here. I' I've used this illustration over and over and over again, but it's so good I got to keep using it. Come on over here. This young man's going to represent the world. This man's going to represent the kingdom of God. Every one of us start right here.
We start coming out from the kingdom of God. And when God fills us with the Holy Ghost, he gives us a jump start. He takes drugs away. He takes alcohol away. He takes the desire to party away. He takes he he takes uh uh wrong motives away. For the first time, when we tell a lie, we feel convicted and we want to repent and and and we start wanting to go fix things and get things right because he gives us a jump start toward the kingdom of God.
But then it's up to you to maintain that jump start through relationship. So if you don't have a pastor in church that teaches you to pray and teaches you to come to the prayer room and teaches you to read your word and get you in a class where you can understand the very word you're reading, you're going to lose it.
And here's the thing, the kingdom of God has a frequency and the kingdom of this world has a frequency and it's like magnets. Whatever you're closest to is what's drawing you. Are you getting a hold? Are you hearing what I'm saying?
When I have someone in the church and they start this deal of, "Oh, I think I'm going to give my Sunday school class up, pastor. I just need some more personal time. I just need more time on my Yeah, I don't think I'm going to sing in the choir anymore. We just going to take a step back. You ain't tired. You're being drone. You're not weary. You're being drawn. You know, when a man's tempted, when he's drawn away from the kingdom of God by his own lusts and enticed to go back and pick up things, you know what he better do? He better find himself a place to pray. He better run to that altar and say, "Pastor, lay hands on me. I'm in trouble."
But you see, there's a deception involved in all this. You know why you've got to have discernment in the Holy Ghost? You know why you've got to have discernment in the Holy Ghost? Because you'll never fall into false doctrine as long as you got discernment. You'll never be deceived if discernment's alive. Deception has no inroad to a person with discernment. You know how you get discernment? Renewing in the Holy Ghost. Renewing in the Holy Ghost. Renewing in the Holy Ghost. Renewing in the Holy Ghost keeps you full of discernment. Whatever you're closest to is what's going to pull you. Now, here here, listen to me. Are you hearing me? I'm almost done. Is 8:46. Stay with me just a minute. We can only go so far through righteousness. I can only be so righteous because I'm a fallen creature. But I'll tell you this, without the help of the Holy Ghost, I'd be way back here somewhere. The Holy Ghost propels me. The Holy Ghost draws me. But even with the Holy Ghost, I'm still in chains of flesh. I'm still in the bonds of what this flesh can tolerate. What does that mean? I can only fast so much because I'm in bonds of flesh. If I fast too much, I'm going to die. I'm only I can only pray so much because my I'm praying through a human brain that can only take so much focus in one situation. So I'm at my best. I'm limited by this flesh. I can only worship so long because I got to go somewhere and sleep because I'm in a fleshly body. Y'all understanding what I'm saying? My fleshly body restrains me. That's why when the trumpet sounds, this mortality is going to take on immortality and I'm going to be able to pray to full capacity. I I'm literally going to have to be able to be holy.
Okay? Now, I can't listen to me. This is you got to get this revelation. I can't attain unto any holiness at all. You listening to me? I can be righteous but not holy. I can attain unto a certain level of righteousness, but holiness is way out of my reach. Are y'all following me?
Stick with me now. The only thing I can do is righteousness and justification. I can be righteous enough to find justification in Christ. But here's what I can't do. I can't be holy wherein I get sanctification. I have no ability to sanctify myself. I can live righteous enough through repentance to find justification, but holiness that gives me sanctification, I I can't even approach into it. So that's what Calvary was about. My requirement is to do is to live the best I can do and when I fall, repent, get up and try again. do everything I can to get as close to the kingdom of God as I can get and get as far away from that as I can get. That's why I don't make excuses. Well, can I go back and do this and can I go back and bring this in and can I have this of the world? Can I have that of the world? If I love God, I'm trying to get away from that and to that. And so as I get closer, all those things that I used to want and used to want to dress like, and I'm not trying to please my buddies anymore in the way I dress, I'm trying to please Christ. I'm not trying to impress my friends and how my hair looks and what kind of things I wear. I'm trying to impress Christ. I'm trying to get to him. And I can only get this far. But Jesus on Calvary spread his arms on Calvary and said, "It is finished." And when he did, he completed the difference. Calvary completed the difference in my righteousness and the kingdom of God. And that space between my righteousness and the kingdom of God that I can't make is called holiness. THAT IS GIVEN TO ME BY GOD. AND IT'S SANCTIFICATION IN THE EYES OF GOD THAT I COULD NOT ACQUIRE ON MY OWN. CALVARY COMPLETES THE DISTANCE AND GIVES ME AS A GIFT HOLINESS AND SANCTIFICATION.
Does everybody understand that? That is why you got to have right motives. Motives and approach. You can be seated, guys. is of vital importance. Right? Let me give you some definitions right here in the end. This this was amazing to me. I went back and looked up the Hebrew word righteousness. Here's what righteousness means. Have we got We ain't got a movable camera tonight, have we? No. cuz everybody runs is over there. I literally wish they could bring one of them cameras and center in on this page, but I know you trust me. The Hebrew word for righteousness is sedc. S ts dq, but it's with a k and the t silent. It it means righteousness or standard. This is what it means. I've circled it and underlined it twice. That which conforms to a standard. That's what righteousness means. conforming to a standard. It's a legal and moral word rooted in justice, order, and correctness. Think courtroom scales and measurement. The key uses is right judgment, moral correctness, faithfulness to covenant standards. Deuteronomy 16:20, that which is altogether just, shalt thou follow. The second the second form of righteousness, I'm not going to attempt the word in Hebrew, means righteous acts and deeds. It means righteous behavior flowing from a righteous position. It means obedience, giving of arms, faithfulness in action, and covenant loyalty. Where it's used is Genesis 15:6. And he believed in the Lord, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. All right, that is the word righteousness. What about the word holiness? Y'all got time for that? Yeah, it's 8:54. I'm almost done. What about holiness? I'm not going to tip up the Hebrew word there either. But here's what it means. It means set apart, separated, distinct, other than. Holiness is not primarily moral. It's relational and positional. Something is holy because it belongs exclusively to God and out of everyone else's touch and reach. Is that powerful? Thank you for helping me this this week with this, brother Thrash. Thank you. All right, let's let's read on here right quick. We got a few more minutes. The second use of holiness in the Bible means a state or realm. It means a sacred space, a sacred time and sacred objects. Examples in the word are holy ground, holy garments, and holy vessels. The use is Exodus 3 and5. The place where on thou standeth is holy ground. The ground wasn't morally pure. It was holy because it was claimed by God's presence. The third use is to sanctify or consecrate. It means to dedicate, to set apart, to make holy through separation. Exodus 19:10, go unto the people, sanctify them today and tomorrow. This is how they're held together through the Old Testament because the the Bible commentator said they cannot be separated. Righteousness governs how God rules. Holiness governs who God is. Israel command us command was commanded to do righteous but only God could make them holy. You shall be holy. The Lord said because I am holy. And if you're going to be like me, you got to be holy. Righteousness is living according to God's standards. Holiness is recognizing that you're owned by God. Righteousness measures what's right. Holiness marks what's reserved. Righteousness is commanded. Holiness is credited. Would you lift your hands and just just ruminate on all this just a minute before we go home? Come on. Just just let all this get in your spirit just a second. Would you do that? Come on. Come on. I want you to take just a moment or two and just let this just let this saturate your spirit. It is my prayer that I've woke up a desire in you tonight to be righteous and to find the holiness of God in your spirit. Come on. Just just push just a little bit, folks. Come on. I don't want to end this dry. I believe God would like to move in in the last moments of this service. I believe he'd like to put a stamp of approval on this teaching tonight. Come on. Could we do that? Would you reach out to the Lord just a moment? God, I love you. God, I love you. God, I hunger after you. God, I desire your anointing. I desire the touch of your spirit tonight. Just ask God to let this get word get a hold of them. Just just pray with somebody right quick. Step across thy move a little bit. Let let the Lord talk to your heart before we go home. I love you, Jesus. Praise you Lord God mo purify my motives. God purify my motives. God purify my motivations. God give me the right motives for wanting to be saved. I give you praise. I magnify your name. I honor you, Holy Ghost. I worship the name of the Lord. I worship the name of the Lord. I worship and praise the name of God. Oh, in the precious, precious, precious name of Jesus, I give you praise. I give you glory. I magnify you, God. In the precious name of Jesus. In Jesus name. God bless you tonight.
