Y'all wig of the day. This is Simmer Elite by Raquel Welch in the color shaded wheat. Let me show you all the way around.

I have had this Simmer Elite for 3 years now. Um and I have only recently really had to do heat maintenance on it. I don't wear my wigs, I don't wear one wig every day. I have enough wigs that I just kind of mix it up. This has always been my fancy wig, my wig that I'm going to wear to a wedding or an event where I just want to look confident and just like I have the best hair ever. So, I don't wear it a lot, but I did have to start heat treating it with a flat iron.

So, what I did was I spritzed the ends with water, just water, use my flat iron to seal those ends back. They had gotten frizzy and clumpy and when you heat treat a heat friendly wig, it's going to seal those ends back so that they move more independently. Um but then I had a wavy wig with straight ends. So, you have two options at that point. You can keep it that way. Well, you have three options. You can keep it that way, wavy with straight ends, or you can cut it, cut those straight ends off and make it a shorter wig, or you can go back in with a curling iron or flat iron and try to recreate the wavy ends. And that's what I did.

I ended up having to re-curl a couple of pieces and let me just tell you re-curling a heat friendly wig is not as easy as you would think. Trying to match or recreate the curl pattern that came in it, I have no idea how they do that, how they create the wave pattern because I can't seem to mimic it. So, I have to just try to create something that will blend with it. And at first, I made this piece too curly. I started up too high and made it too curly. I then relaxed it and it does kind of fit in with it. Um so, there's a lot of learning curves when it comes to styling wigs with heat.

Um there's a ton of reviews and how-to videos on YouTube. I highly encourage you to seek those out, watch as many as you can because a lot of people have a lot of different ways to do it, and you might find you like one way better than the other. So, um YouTube's going to be your best resource when it comes to everything wigs. You're going to find wig reviews, you're going to find color reviews, you're going to find brand reviews, you're going to find how-tos, how to wash your wig, how to store your wig, how to curl your wig, how to straighten your wig, all the things. So, use YouTube as a great resource.

Um all right, that's just my little wig PSA of the day. Again, this is Simmer Elite by Raquel Welch in shaded wheat.
