Today I'm really excited to talk about a brand new product, a brand new affordable product. You guys are always wanting me to talk about lower-cost products, so I'm excited to be talking about these. These are speech labels brought to us by the company behind Hable. If you're familiar with Hable, I've done a couple of videos about it. It's a smartphone remote control that uses buttons similar to a Braille keyboard. Well, they just came out with this new product, Speech Label. You can label everything in your life and then use their free application to read the labels. There's products out there that do a similar thing, but Speech Label is a little bit unique and they're doing some really good things.
We currently have four different labels to choose from and you can even get this starter pack. We'll pop out the starter pack so we can get an idea of all the different types of labels that they have. They utilize both QR code and NFC tag labels. We have two QR code options and two NFC tag options. We have three stickers and then we have sew-on buttons. And the first really cool thing is that Speech Label claims that these are both freeze-resistant and dishwasher safe. So that right there is pretty awesome.
But let's take a look here. We have these QR code stickers. It's just a square sticker, probably about 1 inch by 1 inch. Then we have tactile QR code stickers. These, which are probably about the same size, are actually raised up, so you can actually feel these, which gives them a great tactile element. Then we have simple round NFC stickers. And then we have the NFC sew-on buttons. These are plastic buttons that you can sew onto clothing and also use in some other creative ways.
In the starter pack, you get 25 QR code stickers, five of the raised QR code stickers, five of the circle NFC tag stickers, and five of the sew-on buttons. Nice little variety sample pack. And when these are officially released, which is very, very soon, I believe this is going to be right around $15 for this pack. So, not bad at all, especially since most of these are reusable.
If you pick up the complete packs here, you get 100 of the QR code stickers. You get 25 of the 3D QR code stickers or the tactile stickers. You get 25 of the NFC stickers. And you get 25 of the sew-on buttons, NFC buttons.
When you scan one of the labels, you've got a couple of options. You can give the label a title. You can write out a brief description of that label or my favorite, you can record an audio label that will be played each time you scan the label in the future. And like I said before, the best part is they are reusable.
Okay, when you first install the app, you have to set up a profile. And that's a very important step. And we're going to talk about why that's important here in a second. But once you do, this is the user interface. We have tabs at the bottom. Currently, we are on the scan tab.
Scan tab one of four. This is where you can scan your label.
My labels tab two of four. The next tab over is my labels. This is where going to be the list of all of your already scanned and set up labels. You can then go in there and edit any of those labels, re-record your messages, change the titles, delete them, whatever.
Shop tab three of four. A shop tab. This is where you can easily go in and buy extra labels.
Settings tab four of four. And then your settings tab.
Okay, let's jump in here and let's scan a label. I've got a couple of test labels here already set up. First one is a medication bottle. I've put one of the NFC round labels on the top. It fits perfectly on the top of this medication bottle. And I'm in the scan section here. And I'm in the NFC section. And sometimes when you jump in here, it will automatically prompt you to scan the NFC tag. If you're in here like I am and it doesn't, all you have to do is either tap the middle or if you have voice over on, double tap the middle.
Double tap to start the alert. Ready to scan. Place an NFC tag at the top of your iPhone.
But I also want to show you how quick this is. Okay, check this out.
This is your PM pain reliever. It is extremely strong. So, only take one pill at a time. Any more than one pill and you're going to be feeling like complete garbage the next day. Very true. This stuff is insanely strong.
So, incredibly fast at reading the NFC tag and automatically starts to play the recorded message. At the top here, I have my title. If I had written out a description for this tag, that would be written out here as well. If I had to give a little feedback to the developers, I would love for this text to be a little bit larger. I've got the font set to its maximum size on my iPhone, including the accessibility font. And this text here is still super tiny, but we have a play button right here in the middle, so I can listen to that message. Again, down at the bottom, I have an edit button, so I could go in and edit this recording if I wanted to.
But let's jump into the QR code. Just tap the QR code scanning option and it launches our camera. I've got one of our tactile QR codes on this bottle here. So, this is great. This means I can feel it. I know exactly where this QR code is located. The regular stickers do offer a little bit of tactile element, but if you want maximum tactileness, I think that's a word, you want the raised stickers. But now, I'm just going to point my camera at it. and it already got it.
This is OxyClean spray cleaner. Looks like you can use it on laundry and just general cleaning around the house. Just, you know, keep it away from your eyes.
Yes, very true. So, even the QR code scanning is extremely fast. That's fantastic.
Now, I wanted to show this. I put one of these sew-on buttons onto a rubber band. And I just threaded a rubber band through the holes and then I wrapped it around the handle of this bleach bottle. This is an easy, creative way to use these sew-on buttons other than just for clothing. And what's great, like I said, these are reusable. Once I'm done with this bottle, I can take the rubber band off and then put it onto the new bottle.
But I did something special with this particular speech label. So, I saw on the website that you can record up to one hour's worth of audio message, which is kind of crazy. Most of the time they only give you like 10 seconds, 15 seconds, but you can record for a solid hour. So, I thought, you know what? Let's try that.
So, let me scan this one.
Chapter one. Call me Ishmael. Some years ago, never mind how long precisely, having little or no money in my purse and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world.
Yes. Yes. That is the first couple chapters of Moby Dick recorded to this speech label.
I'm going to show you how to set up a new label.
Scan alert. Double tap to place it. Ready to scan heading. All right. And it says we are ready to scan. So I'm just going to scan the label. There it is. And now here is where we can set up this new label. The very top we have the title area. This is where we can give this label a title. Like maybe I would call it bleach. I can do a description underneath that if I want to. But for right now, I'm just going to do a recording. And it's super simple. You just tap the microphone button in the middle. You'll feel a little vibration indicating that it's recording. You record your message. You tap it again and you can listen to it. Just to the right of that button is a delete button. So, you can record and re-record this message as many times as you want to get it right.

Sounds good. A little bit further down, you see an option that says make publicly available. This is the other feature of Speech Label that sets it apart from all of the others. If I turn that option on, then this Speech Label will be accessible to anyone with the app. Anyone can scan this label and they will hear my recording because all of your recordings, all of the information is stored on the Speech Label server. That's why at the beginning I said you have to create an account, set up a profile. It's for this reason right here. Your labels aren't stored on your device. They're stored on the server. And because of that, you can make them public so anybody can access them. That is fantastic. Usually that's an extra feature that either isn't provided or if it is provided, you have to pay extra for it. But with Speech Label, it's just included for free and it can be very powerful. Think about if multiple VIPs live in the same household. They could share all of the Speech Labels. Or if you worked at a location that served people in the blind and visually impaired community, you could have a bunch of areas in the office labeled bathrooms, areas like kitchens, conference rooms, offices. Being able to make them public like this extremely powerful.
Then down at the very bottom is the save button. We get a little check mark indicating that we successfully saved that label.

I believe the final pricing will be anywhere between $15 to about $25 per pack. And the amount you get, like the stickers, you get 100 stickers in that pack.
