Season 1 Premier: Body EthicsTV Intro

Coach Reuben™7:05

Transcription

Hey there, and welcome to Body Ethics TV. I'm Coach Ruben. I'm an overweight trucker and a certified professional health coach. Kind of a walking contradiction, right? It sure is. But stay with me here, and I'll do my best to connect some dots for you in this short video.

All right. At the time of this recording, I drive over the road for a living. Long haul trucking. I'm 5'7. I weigh 220 lbs. I'm 65 lbs heavier than I should be for my height and my age. I'm almost 50, and I feel it every day. Trust me when I say I know what it's like to lose your breath first thing in the morning just bending over to get the work boots on for the day.

But I'm not here to bore you with my life story. That's a miniseries that nobody wants to see. But a little background information is important, at least to understand where I'm coming from and where we're going with this thing called body ethics. So, I haven't always been a trucker, but I have struggled with my weight for years, over 20 years now. Long gone are the days of being a young, fit soldier.

In 2021, like many small business owners, I had to close my consulting business. And leading into 2022, I dusted off my CDL and reluctantly returned to the trucking industry. Now, this would be the third time in over two decades that this industry has saved my butt financially. But let's be real, this profession is rough on the body. Sitting all day long, junk food everywhere, and the stress. Come on. The on-ramp is for getting on the highway. It's not time for tea and biscuits.

>> Hey, I can't slow down as fast as you. Come on. Oh, what are you? Low on blinker fluid. Oh my god, these roads. Come on, America. Fix the roads.

>> As for dieting, over the years, I've done all the diets. I've lost the weight. I've gained it all back. This time, coming back into the industry, I knew I had to do something different. So, while hauling lumber and steel products all over the country, I put myself back into school online to learn how the body actually works. Not just to lose weight, get healthy, and survive out on the road, but to actually thrive in life.

And what I found, believe it or not, was not another diet, but a principled driven approach that I call body ethics. Body ethics is built upon the 12 laws of foundational health and well-being as I've learned them now. At first, I was trying to juggle everything. Trucking, school, implementing what I was learning, creating videos, uploading to social media, and it was, it was too much. So, I paused all that. I kept learning. I kept working, knowing the right time would eventually come. And that time is right now.

This video marks the start of Body Ethics TV. Not just to record my journey as I take it, but to transfer to you the knowledge that I've gained so far and the lessons that I'm still learning. Now, here's how this channel is set up. It's a bit different than your average YouTube channel. Each week, I'm going to cover one of the 12 laws. Monday through Thursday, what we're going to do is we're going to break down that law into bite-sized chunks. So, mindset, tactics, real-life application, and so forth. And then there's what I call Full Podcast Fridays, where I do a deep dive on the law of the week, and I connect that law to a specific book and an author who understands the subject on a much deeper level than I do.

Now, Full Podcast Friday is exclusive to subscribers of my weekly newsletter, and both are 100% free. They are simply reserved for those who are serious about taking ownership of their health and their future. If that's you, if you're done, done with all the delusional diets, the fitness frustrations, the foodie fantasies, all the BS, if you're done with it and you're ready for real, lasting change, one week at a time. Sign up to the newsletter down below this video in the description. And remember, this isn't a new diet. This is Body Ethics. I'm Coach Ruben.

Hey, I'm over here editing the video you're just watching, and I realized I left out the coolest part about this channel and the newsletter. So, here's the deal. The Body Ethics newsletter is synced with Body Ethics TV. So, when you subscribe, you don't just get access to a couple of newsletters each week and the full podcast at the end of the week. You actually get to learn all 12 laws of foundational health and well-being in chronological order as I publish and coach them.

So, for example, on Monday, you'll receive your first official newsletter. And these aren't long, drawn-out newsletters full of advertising. These newsletters are one to two short, concise paragraphs which make up your first half of free health coaching for that day. In that email will be a link to the video here on the channel that corresponds to that newsletter, which makes up the second half of your free health coaching for the day. But it gets even better. This is your opportunity to follow along with me in real time as I apply the 12 laws to my own life. So, you get to read about and see the struggles, the wins, all of it as it unfolds. So, sign up to the newsletter today, and let's do this together.
