[Music] Okay, good morning. Sunday morning, about 6:30. Came over to seal this project and wrap it up using my SEC Pro 350. Nice way to pour a full can. Turn the spout to the top. It pours real nice. Once you get it about halfway down, now, of course, you can turn it over. You want this sealer to come out nice and clear. If it's yellow, hazy looking, uh, don't use it. It's been sitting in the sun too long, and it'll just give you problems. All right, I'll see you up top.
[Music] Okay, there it is, all sealed. Let's head up to the patio. Okay, lots of pressure in the sprayer. I'm going to go down the porch with a shield and get about two or three feet away from the AAC, and then I'll go ahead and coat the whole thing. I'll just go to time-lapse and I'll show you it when I'm done.
[Music] Okay, there it is. Two coats of sealer. All done. I really like the border. We do that quite often. As a matter of fact, most of our jobs do that. Now, when I just mentioned to the guys, we're doing stamp work, they automatically load in the heavy stone for the border because it's very rare we don't do it. Nice fire pit area. And again, uh, a lot of customers, future customers, ask us, how do we leave the property when we're done? So, I just wanted to show you what to expect. We clean up. Not 100% done, but I think we leave it pretty nice. Okay, let's head on back.
Okay, just finished up the sealing. I had to run to Giant Eagle and pick up some ingredients for mac and cheese I'm making. I'm going to a concert with some friends for this evening, uh, Don and I. And uh, I agreed to this months ago. What was I thinking? The last thing I want to do is go sit in the sun at a concert today. I'd rather be poolside, but it should be fun. And, and you got to get out and keep doing stuff and enjoy yourself. Um, but it's going to be Sunday afternoon, Sunday night. Uh, and Monday morning comes awfully quick. I'm going to bring the camera with me into the kitchen, and I'll show you how to cook mac and cheese. And I think it is the best mac and cheese I've ever had. And it's so simple. It'll take about 3 minutes. I'll go over the ingredients and, and try it. I really think you're going to like it. You can take it to a party, and people will not believe you made it. So, come on with me. Go.
Got my helper. Got my recipe. Very simple. And this, watch how quick this is. Uh, two cups of noodles.
>> Okay. You going to dump these in for me?
>> Yes.
>> Just macaroni noodles. Dry. Do not cook these. Ready? Dump them in here. There you go.
>> Hey, get out of there.
>> Now you take a half a stick of butter. And you just cut it into about quarter-inch on the cutting board. Quarter-inch slivers.
>> On the cutting board. Is that your cutting board?
>> Yeah.
>> Why?
>> Now you take those chunks and just spread them throughout the noodles.
>> Why?
>> Uh, take a paper off, too. I use a sharp knife to cut through the paper, and it's a little bit easier to cut. All right, keep a nice clean workstation.
>> Okay, so those are spread out. Now you take three cups of milk.
>> I want to dump that in, too.
>> All right, we'll do it together. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Three. There's two cups. Ready? Reach over. One. That's two. One, two, and three. Ready, dump. Set that up there. Put that on before it gets spilled. And now we do the heavy whipping cream. Two cups of heavy whipping cream.
>> What is that? What is that pack?
>> This is kind of like milk, only better.

>> Okay, that. Now we have a pack of KBY Jack cheese sprinkled.
>> What is that?
>> Can I save a little bit in the bag?
>> Why?
>> Just a little bit.
>> Why? What is that one?
>> And then at the end, when it's baking, you can sprinkle some on top, and it gives it a real nice crispy look. And then a pack of mac and cheese. And again, same thing. Just save a little bit in the bag. Grab a spoon. Give this a stir.
>> Why?
>> Come on. You know why? So, those noodles are in here dry. Everybody's saying, "What? What is going on?" Trust me. Trust me. You trust me with concrete. Trust me with this mac and cheese. Okay. All the noodles are in there. Butter chunks are in there. Voila. Done.
>> Hey, Pat. Is this knife pointy?
>> Nope.
>> So, I didn't touch it.
>> Well, no, you shouldn't touch a knife. Okay, let's go put this in the oven. Uh, preheated at 250.
>> Have I seen a little bit of this in here?
>> Two hours and you're done.
>> Have se-
>> At 1 hour. I'll give that a stir. Bake it for two hours.
>> I'll see you then.
>> Right there.
>> Reminded me, I forgot to say in the video, uh, cover it with foil for about the first hour, hour and a half. Hour and a half. Cook the last half hour uncovered. Okay, this is about an hour and a half. Getting back here. Look how good that's looking. Give that a little stir. Oh yeah, that's looking good. Just fluff it up a little bit. So, we'll do the final cook here. Unwrapped. Just tossing it a little bit. It all stirred. Remember the cheese I saved? Sprinkle on top.

Okay, good morning. Changing plans today. Cancelled our patio pour for this morning that we got ready on Friday. You can see overcasty, rain is coming in and due around 9:30 with the steps coming down on that deck post from the deck above. It would be a really hard one to tent and protect. So, we're just going to go ahead and put that on hold. We may pour that later today or tomorrow. So, plan B, jump to this project. Elliot's picking up these stepping stones that have been there for about a hundred years. Finding any nice bugs under them?
>> I can't say I have.
>> So, this all becomes new concrete all the way around. Velcro doors, front steps, all that is new rolled slate concrete. In addition to that, at back here, I'm going to start digging right now. We're gonna do a 20 by 20 pad right here. They're going to put a pergola on it. So, we'll run some conduit coming up. We'll find where the leg of the pergola is going to go so the electric can come right up beside it. And uh, have power out there for lights and an outlet. Uh, that pad goes away. We're going to give them a walkway to these steps. And then we're also going to do little stepping stone pads. We've done this before. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight through here. Just little globs of concrete leveled out, roughed in. Then there'll be grass around them. And uh, I don't know why I like that so much, but it's pretty cool.
>> Yep. Okay. So, we'll just do a quick layout here. So, we know our walk is 10 feet off of that step. The step is 1 foot. So, we want to be 11 feet.

From that 10 feet from the front of the step. Now, whenever I dig this, I'll make the orange leave. Then I know I'm a little bit big for our form. Some wiggle room. Here's an old trick. Stand like this. Close your eyes. Center of the gate right here. Close enough for digging, right? So, this is front of the pad. I'm in line with that mark. Here's my 10. Here's my corner. What's up, guys? Got another 10. Now I know I'm parallel with the pool. Right in line. Okay, I can follow this back 20 feet. See, it only takes a couple minutes to do this layout, and that'll really help me dig faster. 20.

I didn't think I was going to hit it that quick. Oh boy. No, that's old, right? All right, let me show the homeowner. Yeah, that's electric. Okay, you can see it on the other end here. There's no way to avoid that, right? It's 3 and a half inches underneath the topsoil. So, all right, I'm going to keep peeling this back.
Okay, things are coming together good. Starting to work on the formwork. 20x20. Did a diagonal. Same measurements. Nice and square. Uh, little bit of fall coming this way and this way. This is our low corner. Just working the slope of the land here. Uh, we're about 6 inches underneath the topsoil back there. So, when it's all said and done, I'll take the mini and comb that down. Uh, you can see we have a slight, slight slope. After much debate, that's what we came up with. A slight slope towards the pool, then a little bit of side slope going away. I didn't want to see it going to the deck. I thought that would just be too high, uh, with the cross-slope of everything. Uh, we find an electric line. We're going to use this coming from the house.

>> Correct. Correct. Uh, power. We'll take that up the pergola post for future lighting. I hit that. That was power coming back from the barn to a switch. He said, "Perfect. Let's eliminate it and we'll use it down the road." This comes out next. Let me show you what we got going on around front and why I'm waiting for that.

Starting to work on stone. Want me to tilt that up?

>> So, we're digging out the front walk. This is roughed in. Once Tom gets out of the way, I'm going to pull a string, center doors, center opening, keeping it square all the way out. The old one had a slight curve to it. I did a layout here. This is all getting carved out. Nice digging. This is beautiful dirt to work with. Little bit wider here. We're going outside of post. Outside of post. You're gonna have to do something with that mulch. We want to keep our same height increments coming down the step. So, it might be a little bit low. Not a big deal. It's mulch. You can pull that back, regrade, and shape that. I don't want a tripper step on, even though it's the last one. Sometimes you have to make them a different size. In this case, it's doable to make them all the same. So, we're going to, uh, I think that's it. Let's tilt this and get Elliot some more stone up against the tailgate. Let's clean this truck out. I always look right here. Now, when I drop it right to that point, right there. Now, the buggy will fit underneath it. Soon as I get a couple ton off, we back it up on these blocks. Okay, Steve got back with another load of stone. Did relay out here. Now, this is centered on the opening on the door. We'll put a little flare. It's a little bit more inviting. And I really like what we came up with here. As we come up, we gave this all a curve. Look at that. Curved in. Curved.

We'll put a conduit under here and under here for low-voltage lighting. That'll really look sharp. Nice and big. Nice and inviting going up to these steps.
