My top communication advice in less than 60 seconds.
The voice you have right now isn't your natural voice, it's your habitual voice. People form beliefs about you not just based on how you look, but also based on how you sound. You can buy the way you look, but you can't buy the way you sound. That's earned.
Stop talking at the same speed. Slow down when you're saying something important, otherwise speed up. Don't rush to answer a question. Pause. First, it makes you sound more thoughtful.
Record a video of yourself speaking for 5 minutes and then review it. Self-awareness is the first step towards improving the way you speak. End every single sentence on a low pitch, it makes you sound more certain.
Your posture introduces you way before your words ever do. You become what you practice. Match the expression on your face with the emotion behind your words. Stop trying to be interesting and learn how to be more interested in others. Don't report your stories for goodness sake, relive them.
Stop replying to people with yes, but yes, but yes, but and start saying yes, and. What you don't change about your communication skills, you are choosing. Learn how to be vulnerable without bringing the mood down.
Your voice is an instrument. You don't use an instrument, you play with an instrument. So, learn how TO PLAY IT. YES. YES.
