Hey, happy Friday. We made it to the end of the week and the weekend is coming, sir. Almost done.

Are we doing anything this weekend? We've been scheduled so much here lately. I don't think we are.

We're golfing.

We're golfing.

Yeah. What is it? Jeff the Creed. Uh golf course. What do they call it?

What are you talking about? Jeffrey Day. Jeff the Creed. Same thing.

Okay.

I don't think Jeff the Creed has a golf course, but no, we're we're golfing on Sunday. It's going to be a good time. I'm going to win.

Probably are. I'm going to be at the bottom of the barrel. That's what I'm afraid of. Trent's going to finally rise up and and just just

he's getting things figured out. He might

We'll uh we'll update everybody on on YouTube and Patreon on how it goes on on Monday video.

Monday's video. Be prepared cuz I'm going to be mentally prepared this time. As you all know, Kent is really good. He's down here tonight, too. So, for this video, so he knows, you know, he's he's like he's got ice in his veins, you know. Nothing mentally ever ever bothers him. I think I've only in golf in the last several years. I think I've only seen him kind of lose his you know what once.

I saw it

on that island green.

On that island green and he just chunk like three balls in a row in the water. I've never seen him do that ever in my lifetime. But anyways,

I saw it.

Colin's going with us too. That's Trenton's buddy. His business partner only drrams app. And he's pretty decent too. He's a he's got a lot going for him. And you know I'm I'm waller around there trying to figure the whole thing out. And Trenton used to be god awful, but something clicked and I think Kent gave a few uh private coaching sessions.

I'm probably like a nine handicap

and and he's doing much better. So So tune in Monday. We'll let you know where the scores ended up to be. How about that? So all right, we did it to ourselves on this blind. Okay, we did it to ourselves. Our our video came out Monday about this particular bottle in specifics.

Fantastic. the new bourbon from Sagamore, the high-rise bourbon. About 50 bucks. And on that particular review on Monday, Trent and I absolutely loved it. Wasn't expecting that. We didn't know. We had no clue what to expect. We had zero taste. We visited Sagamore

sometime in the summertime, you know, and we we didn't have a taste of it then.

We had no idea. 50 bucks high-rise bourbon coming out of Sagamore. We thought it was fabulous. So, what's Trenton's idea today?

This wasn't my idea. This was a This was an idea in the comments, and I apologize. I forgot to write the name down in my notes. Um, Kyle, please put the name of the individual on the screen that

How is he going to know?

I'll tell him. I'll take a I'll take a picture of it with the caveat that we did change a bottle or two in that line.

Okay.

But, um,

what did you do?

Down here, we have the the Sagamore High Bourbon. rare breed, of course, uh, Old Forester 1920, 1792 foolproof, and Knob Creek 12. Uh, they're all kind of a cash strength kind of a thing around the $50, $60 price point, except for Knob Creek 12 being a 100p proof, but we're going to see how that stands up. Uh, and that was

all kinds of hitters there for around 50 bucks.

So, we'll see where Sagamore stands up in this blind.

Oh, we should have put in still Austin cast strength.

Anyway, we'll do that. We'll do that another one. I love when brands come out with like a very competitive thing to just toss their toss their name in the ring for videos and blinds like this.

And folks love that $50 price point. And I and I don't blame you one bit.

Oh, heck no.

You know, a lot of folks don't go and really really dwell into that that lower shelf, that $ 20, $30, but a lot of folks pay attention to that $50 price point. Don't blame me one bit. We could make a series out of this whole thing about $50 bourbons. We could.

We could.

Yeah. Let us know if you want to see that somehow. We can figure that out. Anyways, we'll just keep talking here, buddy.

A.

You all right?

Yeah. Hey.

Okay.

I know. Wait. What's the YMCA? This one.

Is that the A? Yeah, we're starting with A. All right, let's go. Good grief. Start with A. We'll see what happens. Can't poured blind. My wife is gone. She's working this evening. So, I I will say if Stagammore comes in last, I might just I might just pass out. I I'd be hardressed. But we got Hey, look at the competition.

There's some good ones, man.

Fantastic competition over here. I mean, I'm I'm liking the aromomas here. That's for sure. We're going to like all these. Let's just face it.

I'm getting like a buttercotch toffee. Like a brown butter toffee. Ooh, listen to him. Slight cinnamon

a

little bit,

too. It's really nice.

That is delight.

Nice.

It smells thick. It's one It's one of those or it's

Yeah.

Yeah.

It's great.

syrupy smelling almost.

I love it. Very. Ooh, that's good. Little barely there towards the end, but I do enjoy it. It's It's good. This is going to be hard. It's going to be very hard.

I don't remember what I put.

Uh Kent poured the blind. Did you say that? Kent poured this blind for us. Obviously, we know what's in it. We just don't know what's in each glass. Um

we kind of got lucky. Kent's here visiting my mom. We're kind of scratching our heads and trying to go, "Well, I saw Kent's car down here when I pulled in." I was like, "Oh, great.

Lady killer." That's the name of Kent's car.

Yes, indeed. this like whatever the sweetness is at the tail end is just divine.

Yeah. I'm I'm I'm I don't know. It's it's really good. I don't even know why we're doing this blind. It's going to be hardening. It's going to be tough.

I blame whoever left that comment.

Yeah. Thanks, whoever. We got some bananas.

Smells like nothing.

I got some bananas.

I don't smell much of it.

A little bit, but it's pretty weak. I will grant you. Did you fling it

a little bit?

Wonder how much how much cumulative liquid we spilled on this bar top here. It's probably enough to fill a couple bottles, I'd imagine.

Yeah, it's kind of weak on the nose. Smells like smells like if you dipped the cotton ball in alcohol.

Okay. Not my favorite. little little banana, but it's almost like you uh got a lot of like a char barrel.

I can't say it's not my favorite. That's not That's not fair.

Um up to this point, it's not my favorite.

That was a

Mom and Eris. Well, now we're all here. Hey,

you want to try be for you?

We missed you, honey.

You did?

I get I get quite a bit of ethanol. I don't get honestly much else. There's a little bit of this banana flavor going on in here. Um almost like a like a what do they call it when you put the over the creme brulee

and you tap on the top and it crackles or whatever.

The burnt sugar.

Burnt. Yeah, it smells a little bit like a burnt sugar, but that's

I'm not enamored by it.

Oh boy. Okay.

All right. On the seat. All right. Okay. Won't get much out of this either.

Ow.

Yeah, that's ethanol. Yeah, that burned my nose hairs a little bit.

You all right? You scared me.

That burnt my nose.

I'm getting a decent cherry note.

Yeah.

I'm not even going to pretend like I can get anything on this one.

Really?

Yeah. I get nothing.

Was my nose just broke? is not on your game or

No, cuz a smells amazing.

Okay. All right. And there's a lot of flavor in that. Maybe Kent just didn't roll my glasses or something. There's that cherry coming through for me. He's got a nice barrel note in there. A little bit of uh like almost a baking spice type note going on in there on the on the darker side. Do you get any grassiness on this?

Yeah, I mean, yeah, there's some there's a little bit of earthiness happening, too. [Music]

It's a sweet earthiness, though. It's It's nice.

Yeah, I'm I'm kind of digging it. 50 bucks.

I'm really digging it.

Yeah,

it's got It's almost It's almost reminiscent to me of lemongrass

a little bit, but it's it's it's refreshing. It's really nice. The sweetness, the caramelliness is very good.

I'm keeping in mind that all of these are around 50 bucks, too, in my in my brain. Yeah.

You know, it gives me a

kind of little little bit of a u a line in the sand type.

But on to D. Holy moly. That smells That smells really good. That's That's That's okay.

That's what you're talking about right there. Yep. You get it?

Yeah. That's almost a little little sugary nutty like

Yeah.

praliny. Praline.

Is praline something you can like buy?

Yeah.

Like if I went on Amazon and just typed in praline.

Yeah.

Something would come. Well, anything would come up on Amazon if I typed it in.

Yeah.

Kyle's going to yell at you guys for whispering. So, you know,

they're not listening.

You're getting picked up on the microphone. Kyle's going to yell at you guys for whispering.

Sorry, Kyle. It's my fault. I'll stop.

I There's a There's a cherry cola note in here that I really like.

All right.

Almost root beerish.

Oh, I love that.

Do they? Yeah.

Like a Dr. Pepper cherry thing with a little root beer in it.

Yeah. Yeah. But you know what I mean?

Yeah.

Kind of leaning

Dr. Pepper the cherry. That's a thing. They used to make this Dr. Pepper cherry uh cream soda thing and it was fantastic. Uh Grandpa used to when we when he was picking us up from Washington Township when we were what, seven?

Six.

You were seven. Yeah.

We always used to stop by the BP gas station on the way back to his house and we would always he'd get a Verers and I'd get the Dr. Pepper cream soda cherry thing.

He'd hook you up.

Divine. I was addicted to soda for years after that. You can always you can always bank on grandpas for hooking you up.

Oh yeah, man. I snitched so hard I got I felt like something in my shoulder popped. I think that felt terrible. Those are really good, guys. That cherry is just vibrant. Absolutely loving that one.

There's I don't know how to how

full flavor. Yeah,

it's great. It's really good.

There's so many flavors in there I recognize, but I can't quite put my finger on it. But it's really nice. I'm going to take another sip of that. I mean, hey, I'm into that. That's really good. Wow. That's lovely. Absolutely lovely. Oh, you're doing the water before. Have you been doing that for all of them?

I've been doing that lately. I you know was it last year or two I said I really wasn't doing the water in between sips and then I got in the habit of doing the water in between sips and now I feel like I need to.

Okay.

Yeah. And that's just Hey, that's personal opinion. We've talked about that on the show because other people have commented years ago about you guys didn't drink water so this can't be a good blind. You know, you don't you know and it's just a personal thing. Do you need it or you don't? Do you want it or not? Do you feel like you needed to refresh your palette? You know?

Yeah. Do what you do. Do what you do. It smells terrible.

Does it?

Yeah. No, it doesn't. Good grief. What's wrong? I really thought I for whatever reason I believed that. I believed it.

Why?

I don't know. I I had a moment of weakness. But that's really

You get a lot of vanilla in that.

A lot of vanilla. And it's like darker though.

Yeah.

Is there such a thing as a darker vanilla? Vanilla you think lighter? But I mean this is like a dark really nice vanilla.

I'm sure if you like half burnt vanilla, you could probably like a dark brown sugar versus light brown sugar. There's got to be a light vanilla versus

This is one of the best aromas that we've had in this bind. It might be the best one.

Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. This is wonderful. Really good.

Yeah. That's really nice, too. That's great.

You think so? Mhm.

I like the first like 50% of it and then it it gets a little bit uh

offkilter for me.

Okay.

It's like when you spin a top and it's going really good and then it like hits something it just

Well, I'll tell you this. It doesn't get my highest score of the blind.

The E doesn't

No.

Okay.

But I like it.

It's really nice.

I I like it. I I understand where you're coming from. I will tell you I think the aromomas are a little bit better than the sip itself, but I do like it.

I'd agree. Uh, I'm going to I'm going to come out of the gate right now and push out B first.

That was my lowest score.

I'm just trying to condense it down here so I don't have to taste everything all over again.

Well, now I'm screwed because my A and C were the same score and then my D and E were the same score. I really want to get back to A. I don't know if I gave that a good quality sip. Need a pen or are you guys keeping track of what your letters are?

You can give him your pen. We can share a pen, but that's okay. Yeah. I I really want to get back to a these are a little bit more

fresher in my mind. So, [Music] okay, man. A just has a is so incredibly well balanced.

So good.

That's really good. Okay, go back to A's like an old friend. C, stop it. Just stop. Stop it. You don't agree.

You know, I've asked this question many times. What's wrong with that kid?

You don't think A's like an old friend? You got the wrong friends, pal.

I love it. Let's put it that way.

This reminds me a lot of Dan O'Neal for some reason. No, Dan. I tell you, old buddy Dan,

have you had that silver cat?

My buddy Dan's a great friend, man. Great friend.

He's all right.

Only known him for uh 53 years now. Yeah, I'm going to follow suit with that, too. And I'm going to put I'm going to also put uh C Kenton at B fifth C4th. Yeah. Danny we've known so long. We've worked together and everything else. My dad My dad trained you. Did you realize that my dad trained Danny how to how to tape drywall?

Did he? Seriously? Yeah. I didn't know that.

Yes, he did. So, he actually has been doing drywall a little longer than I have. He's a few years older than me, but we should have him on a show. Oh, that'd be awesome.

Now, that would be

that'd be awesome. Does he drink any of this at all?

He tries sometimes. Yeah. When I

Awesome to have one.

When I went to see him, not last year, I think a year before in Florida, did some fishing with him and because he's got a little trailer there

in the winter time,

we were trying some things and stuff. So, it would be

Yeah, cuz he's it'd be great.

He's just a funny personality.

It'd be great. It'd be great.

Tra, did you say what your fourth was? My fourth is uh C.

So you guys are the same so far.

Yep.

Yeah. And I agree with that.

Okay.

I I I at this point, Trenton, I'm going to have to move E next.

Mine was A.

You know, I don't know. I feel I feel honestly feel that A is a little bit more well balanced.

A had a little bit of a grassy taste for me that I wasn't. It's It's not bad. I think it lends to the sit, but

it has a phenomenal barrel chart to this one. Um, for me, E was wonderful on the aromomas.

You gave me indigestion, but it's good.

I understand where you're coming from. I really do. It's good.

It's just a little aringent on the on the very back end for me. Yeah, I'm sticking with it.

You're not hurting my feelings, dude.

I know you're not. So, for me, Ken, I

straight up called me awful at golf earlier in the video. So,

I said,

and you called yourself that even before we did our golf, our golf charity outing that you were horrible.

It's one thing.

So, you're self-proclaimed, but Kent did some coaching with you and something clicked with you and and you're doing pretty well. What I noticed is he is a very quick learner or can take what you say and do it.

Yeah. He's coachable.

Coachable

in in athletic

thing I told him the

Yeah.

It's always been a bad slice.

Yeah.

I got you. You know, I did the line thing with you. His next drive was striking.

And what what's Sorry for the golf talk. What's what's kind of impressive with Treton is his chipping game is kind of like pretty darn good,

dude. My chipping when I put when I golf,

which is usually Mine's not. And I usually I'm I'm my mind takes control of everything in the golf. So, when I'm looking at a chip and I got to get over something, I usually sky that sucker about 20 ft past cuz I don't want to choke it and leave it short. The trend's picked up on that chipping game, too, which is pretty nice.

Dude, you should have seen my chips uh last week, last Friday. Just beautiful. I almost buried a hole and I had a two putt and it was terrible. Anyways,

well, you know, part of that, just real quick, is it's easy easier to pick up stuff pick up stuff at 29 years old than it is at

But yeah,

let's just put it out here now. Cam, we got any money on this thing or what?

Oh my god. We got any money on this game?

I'm sure we can figure something out.

We're going to figure something out because then we'll see what pressure is like for the old boy here. For the young

I don't I don't succumb to pressure.

All right then. I I kind of believe that. I I kind of I kind of like I melt because you know I'm going to have three transfusions and I'm going to be rolling and it's going to be good.

All right, let's get back to where we're going.

Anyway,

we apologize. We do.

All right, we need the first and second review.

Yeah, I I guys, honestly, this I I don't know what Let me One more taste. What D is was phenomenal. Had my highest score D. It's really good. I I can't.

Go ahead, buddy. Since you're talking to people behind the thing and doing all this number,

my second is E. Yeah.

My first place is D.

My second My second is A and my first place is D.

It's really good. I I

We deviated a little bit there.

We did.

I'm actually golfing tomorrow morning 6:30. Getting my practice in.

Well, you know.

Oh, shoot.

I have to work unfortunately.

Well, me too.

I love A2 though, guys. Honestly, I really do.

I hope I don't get an on call notification while I'm golfing. I hope you do. Actually, well, that's nice. Big talker.

I hit a 277 yard drive the other day.

Yeah, that would never happen for me.

Like on on on the first hole, first swing.

Not even on accident.

Have you play you played at the Seasons?

Yes.

Yes. Did you with Connell the other day?

Yeah.

You know that um the 10th hole after you cross the um you cross the parking lot, it's like a dog leg, right?

Yeah. Normally I'm short of that and I was like, "Okay, Michelle got me a new driver." I hit a backyard on the first one. I I wasn't in a great spot cuz I was I was in a backyard, but I can't drive that hole anymore.

SLB Golfs, we should do that.

We should record that day.

We should. Do you want to see it recorded?

We should. And let Kyle have fun editing that a little.

We should. We'll put that We'll put that on Patreon. It'll be an SLB golf video. That'll be fun.

Yes. I think that's more appropriate on Patreon. Let's

I do have a uh what do you call them? A real nice GoPro. High-end GoPro. We can

Do you with a little handle magnet thing right?

We got We got the handheld, too. We'll We'll mount it to the Yeah,

you guys would be laughing so hard that my It' just be awful.

We got money on it and we're recording. You're going to fall apart.

It's going to be awful, man. Too much pressure.

You're going to see Kurt trying to bottle his anger a couple times.

Yeah. Let's move on. Let's move on.

What's last place? Let's move on to the blind place.

They're both the same.

Please.

And I'm telling you,

it just from a few years ago to now, but Old Forester 1920s lasted.

I don't know what in the world's going on with 1920. I swear in my life,

Kurt didn't want to put it in here.

I did not. I said, "Put in the 1897. Put in this. Put in that." And Trent was like, "No, this is the proof. It needs to be the proof." proof and I then understood that because we're going against the Sagamore high-rise bourbon which is 118 proof. It just hasn't shown up lately and I don't understand it because it won our very first bourbon madness tournament. So I don't I have a great bottle or great batch

possibly.

I still enjoy it.

Um but there's other things I'd rather have than that for sure. But I still enjoy it. I pour it once in a while. I just don't know what's going on.

I don't.

You don't still have that bottle from the Bourbon Madness.

Oh, no. Okay.

No,

I figured. But that have been an interesting case study. All right.

Yep.

And you guys both were the same for your fourth place, which was rare breed.

Shocking.

What? And what what was that? C.

Yeah,

that's not right.

Mid.

That's awful. I still say, Kurt, that it's kind of unfair.

Of course, I taste it. Now,

you go Yeah. But you go through rare breed quite a bit and you'll enjoy and so do I.

I do.

But I do the same thing you do with that bottle and I put it on a cube.

I do. And that's right.

I do.

Okay.

I would say I I've bought at least 10 or 12 bottles of rare breed. It's It's the most purchased bottle I've ever done down here. But I rarely drink a neat. I don't know why that is. I love it over a block of ice. I love it over a block.

You know, there's there's certain

whisies, bourbon, scotch, whatever

with a couple drops of water.

That's way

it opens it up and it's a bigger flavor. But I think it's one of the ones that you get that ice in there.

Yeah.

Little bit of dilution and it enhances it. That's why I don't hardly ever drink a neat. So, it's hard for me to pick up blind what I'm tasting when you said a was like an old friend. Remember?

I was trying to get I was trying to get in your head.

You were trying to get and I and but I knew it really wasn't right. I I kind of had a feeling it wasn't it.

I'm sorry. I now now I'm Yeah, I'm defeated already.

All right. So, third place, you guys were different. Oh,

Kurt Wise and Trenton Jose. Uh, want both or Kurts?

Both his.

Um, 1792 Foolproof.

Wow. Wow. Okay. So, that was my second.

Yeah.

Okay.

It's a very good bottle. It's

fantastic bottle.

Very good. Very good.

Um, now the second and third you guys just flip-flopped.

Yeah. Um, so then, uh, Kurt's second place was Knob Creek 12,

which I will continue to say forever and ever. Amen. Knob Creek 12 is my favorite Jim Beam release.

It's a fantastic release.

It is. I picked this up. This is a new bottle, as you can see. I finished my other bottle.

You pour this at home?

I did the other day because it had this much left in it.

Okay. Yeah.

And I just That's stupid. I just want to finish it. I found this not at Harry's unfortunately. Sorry, Harry. But it was like 53 or $54. Wise guys.

Yeah.

I said I need a new one. I'm going to get it. So, this is a new bottle. And I will continue to say Knobgrete 12 here is one of the best buys in bourbon for the age and everything else you get with it. It's really It's good. I like it.

I agree.

I like it. Then that means

and I know and I I just I'm telling you all we had no idea what was in the lineup.

We know what was in the lineup. We didn't know

I'm sorry

what the glasses were. Man, that's delicious.

But I'm telling you, I also want to correct the mistake I made in Monday's video. I said 15% molted barley. This is 15% maltted rye. There's no maltted barley in this at all.

Okay. I never read the

50% corn, 25% rye, 15% maltted rye.

There's no malted barley in that at all.

And there was there were several comments outlining that. So, thank you to those who who correct me.

And that makes me love it even that much more. But you know why?

Outside the box.

Yeah,

outside the box thinking. I love that. I I Hey, it was robust in this blind. It was robust. And that cherry note was dynamic.

It just was. I'm sad. I'm I probably might I probably might have some crocodile tears. That rare breed is down here for me.

What does that mean?

I might cry.

What? What? What?

Cuz rare breed is in fourth place for me personally.

Crocodile tears. What's the significance?

Throw it on a cube and jump right up though.

I I think in blinds in taping recording that rare breed sometimes doesn't get the best nod for me personally is because I usually drink it over a block of ice. That's what kids trying to say. Regardless, I still think this is a fabulous fabulous value. Knob Greek 12 obviously 1792 foolproof. This is the only one that's like man that was definitely last place for me.

Well, you know you know what we might have to do then is have a best best of these on ice video. A blind and and see what see what really happens.

So now we're at

that would be a first.

Now we're at golf and where that's going to end up on Sunday. We're at

I'm trying to get Yes.

Let's pour bourbon over ice and see where that ends up.

Go to golf.

You have your little gizmo, right? Your little gizmo that you you bring that Sunday.

I will

bring it Sunday. Folks want to see.

And then everybody uh um I have I have some openings for golf lessons.

Here it goes.

I got it dialed in. I'm ready. My putt game's terrible, but

All right, All right. Hey, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. If we have enough comments in this video and if you've God love you. If you've lasted to the end of this video and you comment, let's do a video on the golf outing Sunday, we'll put it out there on YouTube. Why not? Okay. It's going to be a combination of iPhones. For some reason, Colin doesn't have an iPhone. He has an Android. Disgusting. Um,

bring the gizmo GoPro and Well, it's not going to last all day.

Oh,

are we doing 18? We're doing 18.

Yeah.

Yeah.

O, it's going to be a good day.

And we got to film after that, too.

We have Caleb or Caleb. Kyle can uh just edit and grab the good ones and

we'll stitch it all together. What is that?

Video.

Five and a half hours of content.

Kyle, tell Trend you deserve a raise.

I was just going to say that.

Whoa. I'm not the business guy.

All right, guys. Sorry for all that rambling going on, but this was fantastic. I thought all these were great. I don't know what's going on here. Please let us know in the comments what you think of Old Forester 1920. For us, it's been for a couple of years, I think, been in last place on blinds. I don't know. It It kind of makes my heart hurt a little bit to be honest. Well, and and two, I'd be I'd be curious cuz I have like what what assuming we did these for, what should replace this?

I feel like Old Forester 1920 is kind of a mainstay or used to be a mainstay, a staple, stall work, whatever you want to call it in in people's collections. A solid $60 bottle for the proof point and it's Old Forester. Who doesn't love Old Forester? I feel like it's kind of gone down a couple steps.

What like are we talking still Austin cash drink? That's a great bottle. Um, in the comment it was Elijah Craig Barrelproof.

Let's say if you want to continue this $50 blind series, let us know. We'll figure out.

Please do. If you've made it this far, we're probably 34 minutes in.

I know. We got to go.

It'll be fine. Friday video.

As always, we ask you to please drink responsibly. I don't know if we did today or not, but uh
