So, here we are. I'm going to talk you through.
First of all, we've got a bucket of water here. I've filled it with warm water. Now, there's uh a lot of different soaps out there. I use GG4. I just put it in a separate little bottle like this and add it into the water when I fill up my bucket. It helps the squeegee glide on the glass as well as being a cleaning detergent. Uh, it also helps to stop the water freezing so quickly in the winter, helps stop it drying out so quickly in the summer. So, it's really great solution this one.
Then, we need to get our applicator nice and wet in the water at the beginning of the day, especially if the applicator's quite new. Give it a good shake in the water so that you work that soap solution right into the fabric of the applicator. Give the applicator a good shake out so it's not too dripping wet, but it's nice and wet. Um, ready for use in my bucket on a belt. And then I add my fairy liquid directly onto the applicator sleeve. This gives me the soapy suds that I need. Also helps the squeegee glide a little bit as well. I like to try different soaps and solutions uh when I can, but I always seem to come back to this combination. It's always been my favorite.
Now, you might find if you're working on a very dirty window, you'll need more soap. You might find if you're working in very hot, sunny conditions, you'll need more water. So, really experiment with the amount of soap you're using, the amount of water you're using.
Then, I've got a couple of cloths here. I love to use scrim. Uh, not many people really use scrim these days. It's quite high maintenance. So, as an alternative, this is one of my favorites is the Ninja microfiber cloth. It's got these nice scrubby pads on the corners, but it's nice and thick. It's really good for wiping around as well. And then for the sills, I use these small microfiber, more of a towing texture. So, they go in my pouch and they're great for the frames and wiping down the sills as well.
