2025 NFL Season | Week 7 Injury Recap

The Injury Expertz6:03

Transcription

Hey guys, Dr. Morris, injury experts. Week seven injury wrap-up. Here we go.

Fantastic game right now between the Falcons and the 49ers. We had some crazy games today. We saw some significant injuries, couple ones that may potentially linger, a couple that looked scary but ended up being a whole lot of nothing. My Patriots continue to win. The Broncos came back with a monster win. Dallas looked fantastic. Uh, and we saw a bunch of good wins today and then we saw a bunch of awful losses. The Jaguars looked absolutely hideous and we saw the Dolphins looked worse than I thought they could possibly look. Um, Quinn ers ended up replacing Tua Teago at one point in time.

So, the biggest injury of the day that is likely to occur is Jaden Daniels right distal hamstring. Now, this wasn't him running. This was actually him getting sacked and the way that his leg was flexed and and really if you if you think about hyperextending and bringing that leg super taut, what happens is sometimes you can have a distal tear of that of that hammy. So, I did a separate video if you want it. Best case scenario, he's fine for next week, but I don't think that's realistic. So, I think he misses at least one week, probably two weeks, maybe up to four if it's a little bit more than just mild. Their by-ew isn't until week 12, so they they don't have a whole lot of time to to wait, per se. They have to decide what they're going to do. So, Marcus Meredo is probably going to get another start next week.

Uh Bryce Young, another quarterback with an injury. This one he was scrambling to his left and uh a defender basically cleed him almost kind of not kicked him I guess but on the lateral aspect of his right ankle uh and it could have caused either a medial or more likely a high ankle sprain but it was very mild just based on how much energy he had in and whatnot but he didn't return to the game uh Andy Dalton finished the game so they don't have a buy until week 14 the last week by weeks I think it So, uh, they're going to have to figure this one out and see if Andy Dalton is going to be able to start next week or if, uh, Bryce Young can actually play. So, we'll have to keep an eye on that one.

Bree Hall left the game, uh, with an ankle injury, but he ended up coming back, but it's definitely something to monitor. Kre Miller left, I think it was the first touch or the first drive of the game with a knee injury, and he never returned. He he was ruled out. So, we don't have specifics there, but that potentially could be a big deal. Now, Alvin Kamar didn't even hit his over prop of 40. So, it wasn't like, you know, like, you know, he had basically the whole game. I think he finished with 23 or 26 yards. So, it wasn't like, hey, you know, the game script wasn't the best, but, you know, that's a little concerning. So, maybe they'll see Devin Neil, the third string, the third back, maybe come in. We'll see. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Now, there was uh one more. Kareem Hunt did end up tweaking his ankle, but he came back, so not overly concerning. Brian Thomas Jr. left this morning's game. I didn't see the actual injury. Um it must have been on on one of the late drives because he was fine before that besides the multitude of drops he had. So, but but but he didn't he wasn't in the end of the game. Um so, I have to see exactly what's going on and how significant it is, but we'll keep an eye on that. Uh Brian Thomas has obviously been very disappointing. Travis Hunter finally stepped up today.

Chris Olive left the game with a leg injury. Remember he came in with a hip injury. Uh left the game, got evaluated, came back, caught a monster play, then he scored a touchdown. Then he then then he ended up scoring another touchdown later in the game. So I don't think it's anything, but he definitely left and we'll have to keep an eye on that. Um the last two injuries that we know of besides the defensive guys uh is Darren Waller suffered a pec injury. Now pec injuries really come in two varieties. Is it a muscle strain or is it a pec tendon injury? Now classically it's the a tendon that attaches over here that basically keeps your arm from completely going far. That's usually what happens when these guys are are are tackling or trying to block and one of the guys will pull him and it pulls that. Now, if it's a tendon injury, those usually take like even if it's a partial tail, like four to six weeks. These are long injuries. If it's a full thickness tear, he's done. You need surgery on it. There's nothing you can do. Now, if it's a pec strain, which should be kind of weird. It's not very common for this type of scenario, but it's possible. That may only be a week or two, just depending on the severity.

And the final one is Cole KT, uh the quoteunquote backup tight end for the Bears, left with a back injury. Uh we'll have to keep an eye on that. Jeffrey Simmons, the the standout defensive tackle for the Titans, ended up suffering a hamstring strain. S Gardner with a concussion and there was a couple other uh potentially big defensive injuries today. But so far, nothing super crazy. Maybe Jaden's ended up being a big deal, but we'll have to keep an eye on that. But as of right now, not the worst day.

Hopefully, you guys did well in your matchup matchups, did well in your bets. I will provide some more specifics uh as the week comes out in terms of who's coming back. Lamar, we have the bunch of guys that are that are the potentially returning this week. We saw CD Lamb come back. Uh but we didn't see Terry McLaren. Uh we we're likely to see Mike Evans tomorrow, but we don't know if Amecha Ibuka is going to play, and if he does, he's very risky. So, so there's a lot of moving parts heading into week eight. Uh, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, I'd love to hear them. Thank you for tuning in. Be sure to subscribe. We'll see you on Thursday night, Friday morning for the injury wrap-up.
