The best way to graduate from Western Governor's University ExtraQuick is undeniably Study.com. WGU is a very cool competency-based school where you spend about $4,000 for a six-month subscription during which you can take unlimited courses. Many of their students graduate in under two years for under $16,000 with some of the best online degrees in business, tech, education, and healthcare.
But honestly, for a college hacker, $16,000 is still kind of a lot of money. And 2 years seems like it might as well be 200 years. Plus, WGU does require a lot of proctored exams, which tends to slow the process down.

First, we have to define what we're up against. We're going to go ahead and choose their bachelor's of science in supply chain and operations. Obviously, the cost and time we talked about already. It's going to be about $16,000 for 2 years. But what we're really interested in is the course list. And you can see a lot of the different courses that they require right here. They give you a little bit of information about them. They're split into general education, business core, business management, and just general business. Uh, and you'll see a lot of the specifically supply chain and data ones are over here in this category. There are no free electives, which means you're not going to be able to transfer in a lot of stuff from a previous degree, but that's not really a big deal when you can go knock out a Study.com course in 10 to 20 hours worth of work.
But we need to see which ones we can transfer in. So, we're going to go to the program guide. Here we get a cool PDF that explains this degree in great detail. And you can see that they have the sort of expected timeline for finishing where you finish, you know, four courses every term. So, term 1, $4,000, term 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. And they expect, you know, a student going at an average pace could wrap up this degree in 4 and 1/2 years. Well, ain't nobody got time for that.
So, we're going to take a look at the Study.com WGU transfer equivalency guide. By the way, if you use our link in the description, you will get 10% off your first month. But you can see down here we have a list of WGU courses and Study.com courses that correlate to them. So, one of the courses over here at WGU is managing operations for three credits. If we go to Study.com, managing operations. Well, looks like there's not an equivalency for that one. But there's also this principles of economics course for three credits. That's going to definitely fit into general education. Principles of economics and here we go. Either economics 101 at Study.com or economics 102 will fill this requirement.
But if it feels like a lot of work to do that, especially when you consider that schools are constantly changing their policies and trying to figure out new credits that they want to have transfer as different credits or even just saying like, "Oh, hey, we no longer require this course or now we require a new course." And with this plan that we've put together here that we're sharing open on the internet for anybody who wants it, you can see that we've brought this down to only 17 courses needing to be done at WGU, which should take an average college hacker maybe 12 months or about $8,000. If you've got no social life or you just really want to get it done, maybe you can get it done in a single term. Uh, but then 19 of these courses we're going to transfer in from Study.com. And this brings the projected finish time to somewhere between 9 and 24 months and $4,500 and $9,000.
Now, let's take a look at the actual plan. You can see we've got general education and then we compiled the major area into one area. 31 credits in general education, 79 in major area. We've listed which courses have to be taken at WGU. And then we have which courses can be taken through Study.com. What is really cool about this plan is that most of these courses are available through the Study.com College Saver plan, which only costs $95 a month. There are a few courses, I think two to three, that are going to have to be done through the College Saver Pro plan, which costs $235 in a month. Either way, you're going to be putting in less than $500 to Study.com to make up for $8,000 worth of tuition to Western Governors. And these Study.com courses are going to take you anywhere between five and 30 hours to knock out. And I know that's a wide range, but it really depends on the specific course. Some are just shorter, some are longer, some are easier, some are harder, and some you already know a lot about, and some you know nothing about, and you feel like you really need to start from the bottom and work your way up.
